Narrative description of Project:
AiD (Pvt) Ltd was commissioned to advise USAID on the “Construction Status “of the Kalat-Quetta-Chaman Highway (KQCH) the KQCH is a 231 KM (7.3 m black topped) road covering four distinct Sections
The highway originates in Kalat and traverses through the provincial capital Quetta, ending on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border at Chaman. Section 1 and 3 were initiated in 2006 and scheduled for completion in 2008 but eventually closed in November 2010. The remaining two sections (2 and 4) were initiated in 2009 and scheduled for completion in August 2010. However work had been suspended due to large security issues
Description of actual services provided in the assignment:
The TORs called for assistance with five distinct tasks including the following:
- Review of the design specifications and construction drawings
- Initial and cursory/ visual inspection of borrow sites, carriageway right of way excavation, ancillary works, aappurtenant structures etc.
- Physical Inspection
- Digital Photos
- As built drawings
