Project Scope
The World Bank was conducting a survey with farmers and tubewell owners across two provinces of Pakistan. The survey was aimed at gathering data on the availability and demand for electricity and fuel usage of the tubewell users. The survey covered different agro-climatic zones across the two provinces, with the estimated sample size of 960 farms in Punjab and 576 in Balochistan.
AiD Pvt. Ltd. was hired by the World Bank to lead the sampling process and conduct the survey in Punjab and Balochistan.
Services
As an extension to the National Energy Survey (NES), the World Bank hired AiD to conduct the survey from farmers and tubewell owners across Punjab and Balochistan.
AiD’s responsibilities included: customizing the methodology including the survey questionnaire and sampling strategy to the local context; obtaining the sampling frame from Agriculture Departments in these two provinces; selecting the sample of union councils (UCs) for carrying out the survey; listing all the electric tubewells identified within each selected UC; and data collection from selected sample of farmers and tubewell owners in each UC.
The overall sample of the survey is 1200 tubewell owners and farmers in Punjab and 672 in Balochistan.
