Third Party Milestone Monitoring Services for Construction of Schools under Sindh Basic Education Program (SBEP) in Sindh

Description of actual services provided by your staff within this assignment:

AiD services under this contracts include A-E services for monitoring the achievement of payment milestones identified in FARA between USAID and the GoS for construction of new schools in seven (7) priority districts of the Northern Sindh and five (5) selected towns of Karachi with an expectation of additional district within Sindh under this Program.  Consistent with the approved Milestone Monitoring Plan (MMP), AiD conducts periodic inspections to verify that (1) Milestones have been achieved as per the requirements of the Project Implementation Letters (PILs), (2) The quality of the work is compliant and consistent with the design drawings and technical specifications, (3) Environmental compliance procedures are met, (4) Branding and marking requirements are being met; and (5). The requested payment amounts are consistent with the FARAs negotiated between USAID and the GoS.

Reviewing QA program of the contractor providing A-E (design and supervision) services and providing the contractor and USAID with review comments/suggestions for improvements is part of services (technical support). AiD conducts specific tests to verify accuracy and quality of testing performed by the A-E services (design and supervision) contractor and GoS contracted construction firms and reports/advise COR on any steps/tests required in special circumstance. In addition to periodic reports, any problems /matters requiring urgent attention are reported immediately either verbally or via email to COR, and followed up promptly with a signed written report.
