Project Scope
The project aims to enhance private sector investment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s industries sector by modernizing outdated regulations, improving governance efficiency, and supporting the Aasan Karobar Facilitation Portal to align with Ease of Doing Business objectives. It involves mapping existing regulations, engaging stakeholders from the private sector, government, and civil society, and developing investor guides to clarify the investment process both before and after regulatory reforms. The project will be carried out in phases over three months, culminating in the drafting of legal amendments, policy proposals, and a final presentation of the reform proposals. Key deliverables include a comprehensive regulatory mapping, dialogue reports, investor guides, draft legal amendments, and strategic outreach materials.
Services
Associates in Development (AiD), in collaboration with Rafaqat Babar & Co. (RBCO) and the Research Society of International Law (RSIL), conducts a comprehensive regulatory landscape analysis to identify bottlenecks and gaps in the existing frameworks. AiD provides a range of services, including a comprehensive review and mapping of existing regulations in the industries sector, identifying barriers to private sector investment, and proposing a streamlined regulatory framework. It facilitates stakeholder consultations with the private sector, government, and civil society to ensure the reforms are practical and aligned with sustainable growth goals.
AiD also develops two versions of an investor guide—one based on current procedures and one post-reform—to support investor clarity. Additionally, AiD supports the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Aasan Karobar Facilitation Portal, ensures alignment with Ease of Doing Business objectives, assists in drafting legal amendments and policy proposals, and works closely with government authorities to finalize and gain approval for the reforms.
