The Planning Commission of Pakistan in support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) developed the National Framework for Sustainable Development Goals under which the baseline for 17 goals, 169 targets and 242 indicators were prepared and prioritized according to short- term, medium-term and long-term perspectives. Pakistan has proactively started to localize SDGs with the SDGs Unit being set up in the Planning Commission at federal level and provincial SDGs Support Units in each provincial Planning & Development Department.

Services

Under supervision of Project Manager, SDGs Support Unit, KP and Sindh; AiD team developed a comprehensive SDGs Framework for both provinces by analyzing existing government legislations, laws, plans, policies and strategies, as well as existing baseline data to establish SDGs priority targets matrix to achieve agenda 2030. More specifically the SDGs framework has established provincial baselines, localized provincial targets, identified priorities based on selection of methodology, and developed an implementation mechanism for mainstreaming for the achievement of SDGs in the provincial planning process.
