Director Engineering & Business Development
Mr. Malik Ahsan Gulzar is a dynamic and accomplished civil engineer with 18 years of continuous service at AiD Pvt. Ltd., where he currently leads as Director Engineering & Business Development. He holds a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Resource Engineering and Management, and is a registered Professional Engineer with the Pakistan Engineering Council.
Mr. Ahsan has built a strong reputation for delivering results across a wide range of high-impact, multi-sectoral development projects funded by major donors including USAID, the World Bank, KfW, GiZ, DFID, and the European Union. Most notably, he recently completed his tenure as Chief of Party for the USAID-funded Sindh Basic Education Program (SBEP), where he successfully led strategic planning, milestone monitoring, reporting, and quality assurance for large-scale school infrastructure development.
Throughout his career, Mr. Ahsan has consistently taken on senior leadership roles across diverse infrastructure and service delivery programs. He has directly overseen interventions in key sectors such as water and sanitation, education, roads, and irrigation, managing end-to-end project cycles from technical design and stakeholder coordination to field implementation and quality control. Known for his hands-on approach, he excels at leading multidisciplinary teams, navigating complex operational environments, and ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery of development outcomes.
In his current leadership capacity, Mr. Ahsan spearheads AiD’s business development strategy, playing a pivotal role in identifying new opportunities, shaping competitive technical and financial proposals, fostering strategic partnerships, and driving the firm’s continued growth in the infrastructure and social development landscape.
