Narrative description of Project:
The scope of services assigned to AiD included detailed surveys, feasibility study, planning designing including PC-1 preparation, detailed engineering designs, BOQs, assistance in tendering process, bids evaluation, construction supervision including quality control, verification of measurement, contractor’s bills and evaluation of (a) drinking water supply schemes and (b) sanitation works (including sewerage, drainage, solid waste and other related components.
The consultancy work also included design and evaluation of water source, treatment works, transmission line, distribution system, reservoirs, pumping machinery and energization based on the evaluation of alternative energy sources. On sanitation schemes, area of responsibilities called or identification of waste water disposal point including its impact on the aquatic life and any other environmental impact, required level of treatment, treatment works designs and pumping requirement, if any.
Description of actual services provided in the assignment:
Services carried out by AiD includes;
- Conducting necessary field visits, topographic surveys
- Detailed water supply and sanitation schemes designs
- Preparation of PC-I/Cost estimates
- Preparation of bidding documents and technical support during evaluation
- Construction supervision and contract monitoring with reference to client brief and approved engineering designs
- Verification of contractor bills, work schedule etc.
- Submission of progress reports/Completion reports.
