Project Scope
The overarching goal of SRSP’s project was to rehabilitate lives, support essential infrastructure and thus build resilient communities in areas hit by floods and insurgency. Amongst others, Community Physical Infrastructure (CPI) schemes were largest (93% of development budget) component of the project.
The project was able to form 395 Community Based Organizations (CBOs), rebuilding/restoration of 213 CPI schemes benefitting 37,000 HHs; imparting enterprise/vocational training to 700 households especially women; and encouraging local/political leadership and media to visit communities for learning.
Services
AiD was engaged for an evaluation to assess the relevance, efficiency, effectiveness, impact and sustainability of the community built and maintained infrastructure schemes (CPI), towards expected outcomes envisaged in project proposal/financing agreement.
The scope of work included, drawing lessons, and providing a set of clear and forward-looking options leading to strategic and actionable recommendations for current and or future AusAid funded projects specifically and other similar projects in general. Furthermore, the overall aim was to generate an evaluation report that would support SRSP’s culture of internal learning and accountability in SRSP programming processes.
