Project Scope
The project scope required AiD to monitor physical Infrastructure and scholarship activities being implemented by lower FATA Development Program- Livelihood Development (FDP – LD) in FATA and KPK. Geographically, the infrastructure component covered; North and South Waziristan, Kurram Agency, Orakzai Agency as well as FRs Kohat, D.I.Khan, Lakki Marwat, Bannu, and Tank. Sectorally, the infrastructure program covered roads, buildings, water supply and irrigation. The scholarship program covered 120 institutions in the entire KPK/FATA and Punjab.
Services
Infrastructure:
Monitoring and assessments of all infrastructure sub-components (water supply, sanitation and drainage , link roads etc) through; i) review of design and specifications, ii) physical inspections, iii) quality control checks, iv) material tests, v) review of construction schedules, vi) assessment of project benefits and technical guidance on need basis Monthly reports covering detailed assessment and recommendations for the Infrastructure component.
Services included;
• Conducting necessary field visits, topographic surveys (providing as-built situation with all utilities and relevant information), Geo-technical investigations and tests
• Detailed designing and supervision of water sanitation & hygiene (wash) component
Education:
Periodic visits to all 120 institutions in the KPK/FATA and Punjab with a view to assess the scholarship disbursement process, quality of institution and the program; adequacy of the scholarship and understanding of issues Interviews/Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with scholarship holders and getting information regarding the process flow of stipends, enrolment and dropout rate Monthly reports covering detailed assessment and recommendations for the scholarship component. The final report included a critical review and recommendations on the design of the scholarship program.
