Project Scope

The project scope includes monitoring, evaluation, planning; design and top supervision services for the US$ 59 Million GIZ funded ‘FATA Livelihood Project’ in Khyber Agency and frontier region (FR) Peshawar. The project relies on Community Based Organizations (CBOs) who were responsible for implementation and Operating and Maintenance (O&M) for all infrastructure components. Community mobilization, capacity building and construction services were facilitated by the designated partner NGOs.

The project includes two distinct types of interventions. The “quick impact projects” and community development fund” schemes largely cover small infrastructure. However there is a growing prospect for the addition of livelihood support and Agriculture related initiatives. These will be planned and developed in the upcoming phase alongside the implementation of CDF Schemes.

Services

AiD’s specific role included monitoring, evaluation, planning, design, top-supervision and payments certifications for all infrastructure components. The team also ensured technical back-stopping, troubleshooting and advising GIZ on need basis. Relevant components included the monitoring, evaluation, design, Construction supervision and payment certification of Surface Water Tanks, Overhead Tanks and Tube Wells, conducting necessary field visits, topographic surveys (providing as-built situation with all utilities and relevant information), Geo-technical investigations and tests, detailed designing and supervision of water sanitation & hygiene (wash) component
