Project Scope:

 

The objectives of the Vulnerability Assessment was to assess the climate change related vulnerabilities of communities at village level in the selected valleys of Swat & Chitral jointly with BKP field teams of Swat and Chitral. The field teams of BKP at district level were trained (on-the job) and guided how to implement local vulnerability assessments in a participatory manner and identify suitable pilot adaptation measures which can be partly implemented by BKP and its partners.

 

Services/Deliverables:

 

·         An orientation training to the government/ BKP field team in Swat and Chitral.

·         Facilitation of the team for community meetings and discussions using PRA tools.

·         Developing impact chains caused by climate change/ climatic disasters, ecosystem sensitivities (social/ environmental) and community adaptive capacities using Adelphi/ EURCA approach.

·         A report on findings of two valleys in Swat and one valley in Chitral submitted to GIZ-BKP.
