Project Scope

The project was aimed towards collection of data pertinent to the preliminary multi­ sectoral damage assessment especially water supply schemes, sanitation and drainage assessment caused by the October B earthquake. Data on 11 broad sectors -- health; education; water; roads & transport; housing & shelter; livelihoods; environment and social safe guards; rural development; agriculture; private and public sector enterprise and irrigation -was to be collected in the quake affected districts in NWFP & AJK.

 

Services

Services provided under this activity included collection of data pertinent to the preliminary multi-sectoral damage assessment especially water supply schemes, sanitation and drainage assessment caused by the October B earthquake. Data on 11 broad sectors was collected in the quake affected districts in NWFP & AJK. The 11 sectors included;

•           Health;

•           Education;

•           Water;

•           Roads & Transportation;

•        Housing & Shelter;

•        Livelihoods;

•        Environment and Social Safeguards;

•        Rural D development;

•        Agriculture;

•        Private and Public Sector Enterprise and

•        Irrigation.

Also, necessary field visits, topographic surveys (providing as-built situation with all utilities and relevant information), Geo-technical investigations and tests were performed. In addition, detailed designing and supervision of water sanitation & hygiene (wash) component was undertaken out as well.
