Project Category:

Project Scope

The project scope included planning; design and top supervision services for the US$ 59 Million GIZ funded 'FATA Livelihood Project' in Khyber Agency and frontier region (FR) Peshawar. The project relied on Community Based Organizations (CBOs) who were responsible for implementation and Operating and Maintenance (O&M) for all infrastructure components. Community mobilization, capacity building and construction services were facilitated by the designated partner NGOs.

The project included two distinct types of interventions. The “quick impact projects" and community development fund" schemes largely covering small infrastructure. However there was a growing prospect for the addition of livelihood support and Agriculture related initiatives. These were to be planned and developed in the upcoming phase alongside the implementation of CDF Schemes.

AiD's specific role included planning, design, top-supervision and payments certifications for all infrastructure components. The team also ensured technical back-stopping, trouble shooting and advising GIZ on need basis.
