The EU funded Enhancing Quality and Access to TVET for Employability project in Sindh Province Project scope was aimed at facilitating “Improvement of accessibility to TVET leading to professional employment of marginalized communities in rural areas of Sindh with 50 percent more earnings compared to the baseline findings”. The project was implemented by Oxfam Novib.
The specific objectives were:
- Improvement in accessibility and success rate of 3,200 unemployed poor youth in three selected districts (Dadu, Khairpur and Jamshoro) of Sindh in TVET leading to with 50 percent more earnings compared to the baseline finding
- Improvement in economic empowerment of 1,600 poor women in three target districts by enhancing handicraft, designing, production and entrepreneurial skills and linkage development with potential national and international markets leading to 50 percent more earnings compared to the baseline findings.
AiD’s services were contracted to carry out baseline survey of the project in targeted districts of Sindh.
The scope of work included a sampled baseline survey in Dadu, Jamshoro and Khairpur districts with potential project beneficiaries. The baseline methodology was designed and finalized in consultation with Oxfam Novib – the implementing agency of the subject project. A paper-based baseline survey was administered by a team of experienced enumerators.
After the data collection, the senior team carried out data analysis and developed a detailed baseline report which noted the socio-economic status and livelihood opportunities available to targeted population.
