Project Scope

The project scope included providing design and construction supervision for Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAIF). The project was funded by the Committee for Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy (CECP), a US based Philanthropic Organization. PPAF was assigned the overall management of the project and implementation partners included Mountain and Glacier Protection Organization (MGPO), Community Uplift Program (CUP) and National Rural Support Programme (NRSP) were assigned responsibilities for construction through various private sector contractors. The facilities specific completion report confirmed that a total of 6 health and 10 education facilities had been completed. The education facilities included primary, middle and high schools for girls and boys, while the health sector facilities covered several basic health units (BHUs) and rural health centers (RHCs).

Services

Core services rendered for design, construction and supervision of 16 facilities in the health and education sectors involved following tasks:

 

•        Preparation of concept, schematic and detailed architectural I engineering designs

•        Preparation of detailed cost estimates based on prevailing market rates

•        Carrying out top and detailed construction supervision

•        Monitoring physical and financial progress

•        Preparation of tender documents, selection of contractors, action and award of contracts

•        Assistance for payment certification
